Emmerdale delivered explosive scenes last week as Bear Wolf—previously believed to be dead—made a dramatic return to the village.

Emmerdale star Joshua Richards, who plays Bear Wolf, has spoken out about his future on the ITV soap following his dramatic on-screen return.
Last week’s episodes delivered explosive drama as the show aired a gripping whodunnit centered around villain Ray Walters. In Thursday’s installment, Ray remained determined to flee the village and start a new life elsewhere.
With Paddy Kirk on the verge of calling the police, Ray resorted to threatening young Eve, leaving both Paddy and Dylan Penders distraught as they struggled to decide what to do next.
By the end of the episode, Ray had cornered Paddy in his living room, issuing violent threats against both him and Dylan. However, the tension was shattered by a jaw-dropping twist when Bear suddenly reappeared in the village—despite having been declared dead in previous episodes—stunning Dylan, Paddy, and Ray alike.

During a violent confrontation, Bear ultimately killed Ray in an effort to protect his son Paddy and Dylan—despite both of them desperately pleading with him to stop.
In the aftermath of the explosive episode, Paddy and Dylan agree to keep quiet about what happened, helping a deeply shaken Bear cover up the killing and hide the truth.
Speaking to Metro about Bear’s future on the soap, actor Joshua Richards admitted uncertainty over what lies ahead. He explained that Bear’s path forward will be emotionally challenging and said he’s eager to explore the character’s inner turmoil alongside the show’s writers, producers, and directors as they determine where the storyline leads.
Joshua also revealed that filming has already continued, teasing that Bear may be slipping back into familiar habits. He shared that he’s already shot scenes involving heated arguments with Paddy, joking that Bear might be returning to his old self if he’s shouting again—though he stressed the character is far from fully healed and will need time to recover.

“The relationship between them continues to evolve—at times fragile, at times warm, challenging, and even thrilling. I feel incredibly lucky and honoured to work alongside the brilliant Dominic Brunt, who plays Paddy.”
Meanwhile, in this week’s spoilers, Paddy faces a tense discussion with DS Walsh.
Later on, DS Walsh informs Paddy that police are eager to question Celia regarding Ray’s murder.
Paddy waits until Celia is safely out of hearing range before quietly sharing this promising development with Dylan.
