Emmerdale villain Ray Walters was killed earlier this month, but was Bear Wolf truly the one behind it?
Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve uncovered Ray Walters’ true killer — and it isn’t Bear Wolf.
Viewers of the ITV soap will remember that drug dealer Ray (Joe Absolom) stabbed his malicious mother, Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths), on New Year’s Day after she refused to let him start a new life with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).
Ray met a similar fate soon after, with his body dragged through the village just before the Corriedale crossover. Following a tense week of flashback episodes, it was revealed that Bear (Joshua Richards) had actually killed Ray to stop him from murdering his son, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).
To cover up his father’s actions, Paddy kept Bear locked in a remote house, reminiscent of Bear’s previous time on Ray and Celia’s farm last year.
Tuesday’s episode (January 27) saw Bear escape from his room in an attempt to visit his friend Anya’s (Alia Al-Shabibi) grave. However, before he could reach it, he was spotted by Caleb (William Ash) and Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) while they were out walking.

In Wednesday’s episode (January 28), now available to stream on ITVX, returning character Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) stunned his ex-wife Kim Tate (Claire King) and her step-grandson Joe (Ned Porteous) when he showed up at Home Farm, having been presumed dead for six years.
Joe and Kim struggled to come to terms with Graham’s shocking return. Later, the police arrived looking to question him, prompting Graham to assume Kim had called them — but it was actually Joe who had exposed his location. “You were gone and you should have stayed gone,” Joe said, with Kim adding, “Oh dear. That bullet you were willing to take, look who’s holding the gun.”
Following these developments, some Emmerdale fans now believe Bear wasn’t responsible for Ray’s death at all, with many pointing to Graham as the true culprit.

Viewers will recall Graham meeting his ex, Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), on the day Ray died, after discovering that April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) was involved with the drug dealer. Graham then attacked Ray in the church hall before slipping away unnoticed while Joe heard the commotion. Could Graham have gotten to Ray after Bear?
“I still don’t think Bear killed Ray. That’s a wrestling sleeper hold,” one fan wrote on a Facebook page, with another adding: “That’s exactly what I thought. I’ve watched wrestling long enough to know that was just a sleeper hold.”
A third commented: “Maybe he actually died from the injuries Graham caused when he beat him up. Everyone thinks Bear did it, so he’d be in the clear.”
Another fan suggested: “What if this was all a setup and Ray didn’t die from Bear’s strangling? Graham could have got to him afterward,” while someone else wrote: “Bear’s not a killer. I bet Graham landed the fatal blow and we just haven’t discovered it yet.”
