Christina Boyd joined Coronation Street in 2023, playing the role of Daisy Midgeley’s mother.

Coronation Street fans will be surprised to learn that Amy Robbins, who plays Christina Boyd, has a very famous niece.
Christina first joined the ITV soap in 2023 as Daisy Midgeley’s mother and has since been involved in several dramatic storylines.
Although she has appeared on and off since 2023, Christina has become a more regular presence on the cobbles recently, largely due to her romance with George Shuttleworth.
In Thursday’s episode, Christina was seen enjoying a girls’ night out with some of Weatherfield’s residents.
During the evening, Bernie Winter went missing, and the episode ended with her being found passed out in a nightclub toilet after spending the night in newcomer Mal’s hotel room.

Christina is portrayed by 54-year-old actress Amy Robbins, best known for her roles as Dr. Jill Weatherill in The Royal, Stephanie Morelle in World’s End, Caren in EastEnders, and Defence Barrister Milligan in Emmerdale.
Amy comes from a very famous family. Her sister, actress Kate Robbins, is the mother of Emily Atack, making the 36-year-old Emily Amy’s niece.
Kate, 67, is a celebrated actress who also achieved musical success in the 1980s, reaching number two on the UK charts with her hit More Than in Love. She has appeared in iconic shows including Spitting Image, After Life, and EastEnders.
Meanwhile, Emily is best known for her role as Charlotte Hinchcliffe in The Inbetweeners from 2008 to 2010. She later gained wider fame through reality TV shows such as Dancing on Ice and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Emily went on to appear in shows such as Celebrity Juice, The Emily Atack Show, Almost Never, and recently played Sarah Stratton in the star-studded series Rivals, acting alongside Danny Dyer and David Tennant.
The acting talent runs deep in the family. Amy’s sister Emma has also pursued acting, while another sibling, Jane, has shown her versatility as an artist, actress, and musician, including performing with the UK’s Eurovision group Prima Donna in 1980.
Amy’s brother Ted has had his share of Coronation Street appearances in three minor roles, but he is also recognized for his work in films and shows such as Calendar Girls, The Slammer, Diddy Movies, and Benidorm.
Perhaps the most high-profile connection is Amy’s first cousin once removed, Beatles legend Paul McCartney. According to the Daily Star, Paul is a cousin of Amy’s mother, and Amy has spoken fondly of him, saying: “He’s everything you would hope him to be, genuinely lovely.”
