A Premier League player who once hit an EastEnders actor has been fined for his 10th driving offence, leaving him with 50 points on his license

The Premier League’s most notorious driver, who previously struck EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney with his car, now has a staggering 50 points on his license after being caught speeding in his £300,000 Rolls-Royce, marking his TENTH driving offence.
Chelsea star Wesley Fofana, valued at £70 million, is already banned from driving for two years. He was described in court as a “habitual offender” and fined after pleading guilty to one count of speeding in a 40mph zone.
The 24-year-old French international was caught on February 27 last year, at 1:30am, driving 54mph in a 40mph zone on the A316 Chertsey Road in Twickenham, southwest London, while behind the wheel of his £300,000 Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Fofana did not attend Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court but was fined £1,062 and given three penalty points. Court records also revealed he earns more than £200,000 a week at Chelsea.
Prosecutor Kari Williamson told The Sun: “The defendant was caught by an automatic camera at 1:30am driving 54mph in a 40mph zone on the A316 Chertsey Road. His driving record shows he is disqualified, holds a non-UK license, and is banned until May 13, 2027, for a previous dangerous driving offence.”
Fofana famously left actor Gaffney with a broken collarbone after hitting him while the EastEnders star was out one night.
Fofana’s lawyer, Stephen Oldham, told the court on Friday: “He appeared before the court in May last year and was disqualified as a result. That offence resulted in a two-year ban and 47 points. This latest offence occurred just weeks after the previous one. He will need to pass another driving test before being allowed to hold a license again. He earns over £200,000 per week.”

Magistrate Alan Jefferson also criticised Fofana’s driving record, stating: “It’s clear he is a habitual offender. We have taken into account his income and early guilty plea. His licence will be endorsed with three penalty points.”
Fofana’s fine includes a £666 financial penalty, a £266 surcharge, and £130 in court costs. Chelsea have been contacted for comment.
Last year, he narrowly avoided jail after pleading guilty to a single count of dangerous driving. A video surfaced showing him driving a white Lamborghini and overtaking on the hard shoulder of a motorway in Surrey.
He was ordered to complete 300 hours of unpaid community service and pay £85 in costs plus a £114 surcharge. The former Leicester City defender also received an 18-month driving ban and will not be allowed to drive until May 2027.

He was also banned in May last year and received 38 points for eight separate speeding offences in his £300,000 Rolls-Royce, £200,000 Lamborghini Urus, and £100,000 blue 4.0-litre Audi. Lavender Hill Magistrates fined him £7,569 for these violations.
However, when he hit Dean Gaffney with his car in January 2024, Fofana was found not to be at fault. The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star was reportedly “catapulted” into the air when Fofana’s vehicle struck him on the King’s Road in Chelsea.
At the time, Gaffney was attempting to hail a black cab when the incident occurred.
