General Hospital spoilers hint that Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) is headed for a huge moral crossroads in the new year. He’s expected to uncover Marco Rios’s (Adrian Anchondo) deadly plan to take out Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). While this revelation will clearly bring Lucas and Marco’s romance to an end, the real question is whether Lucas will also report his boyfriend to the authorities.
Lucas Jones Has Never Supported Sonny
According to General Hospital spoilers, Lucas has never been a fan of Sonny Corinthos. His resentment only deepened after Sonny kidnapped Marco, solidifying Lucas’s negative view of his sister’s former partner. As a mob boss, Sonny remains one of the most divisive figures in Port Charles. While some see him as a flawed man with a conscience, others view him as nothing more than a career criminal.
Lucas firmly falls into the latter camp. He’s long been frustrated that Sonny has escaped serious consequences for his illegal actions over the years. Although Lucas deeply cares for Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), her children, and her grandchildren, he would much rather keep Sonny out of their lives altogether.
Still, Lucas is known for his strong moral compass and commitment to doing what’s right. Would he really ignore a murder plot without alerting the police?
Seeing Both Sides
That said, Lucas may find himself conflicted once he fully understands Marco’s motivations. There’s no chance Lucas would continue a relationship with Marco after learning the truth about who he really is. However, Marco’s desire to eliminate Sonny isn’t rooted in his father Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) criminal empire.
Instead, Marco is driven by vengeance. Sonny not only kidnapped and tortured him, but Marco also believes Sonny is responsible for the death of his mother, Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue). That personal loss fuels his obsession with revenge.
Could Lucas feel sympathy for Marco despite everything? Might he try to shield him from prison, even if their relationship is beyond repair? Ending a romance doesn’t mean feelings disappear overnight.
So will Lucas ultimately turn Marco in after discovering his plan to kill Sonny, or will his lingering emotions get in the way?
