General Hospital spoilers suggest Willow Cain (Katelyn McMullen) has embraced the idea of “if at first you don’t succeed, try again” after she injected Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) with an unidentified substance. Doctors now believe Drew has suffered a stroke, leaving him with locked-in syndrome — conscious but unable to move or communicate.
During the Tuesday, January 20 episode, Willow appeared at the hospital in tears, putting on a convincing display of devastation over her husband’s condition. However, fans quickly noticed that Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) didn’t seem convinced. Could Willow’s suspicious behavior make him her next target?
Kai Taylor Knows the Truth
Spoilers remind viewers that Drew and Willow were celebrating her “not guilty” verdict — an irony not lost on fans — when she suddenly stabbed him in the throat with a syringe during the Monday, January 19 episode. The shocking moment left both Drew and viewers stunned.
Importantly, both Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Kai know Willow was responsible for shooting Drew twice in the back. The pair attempted to bring their evidence to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), but Alexis chose to move forward with defending her client, ultimately securing Willow’s acquittal.
Despite Willow’s frantic performance at the hospital, GH fans could tell Kai wasn’t buying the act — even if her mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), seemed completely taken in. The question now is: what happens if Kai decides to speak up?
Jens Austin Astrup’s Recurring Status
Some months ago, Jens Austin Astrup was moved off contract. While that doesn’t automatically spell doom for his character, it does leave the door open if the show decides to push Willow further down a dark path — potentially adding another name to her list of attempted victims.
Although Kai and Trina make an adorable couple, many fans agree they don’t quite have the same spark Trina shared with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez). If Kai and Trina begin confiding in others about what they know — or if word spreads that they were present the night Drew collapsed — Kai could find himself in serious danger. A direct confrontation with Willow could also put him at risk.
