Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is officially back on set at General Hospital, which means her long-awaited awakening from her coma is coming soon. And that also raises the possibility that Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), who might not be who he claims, could finally be exposed.

Her ex-husband and former GH co-star Johnny Zacchara (Brandon Barash) also moved to Nashville with his new wife. Since Maxie co-parents with Johnny, she relocated as well. The move puts Maxie happily closer to her best friend Lulu Spencer (formerly played by Emme Ryland), who now lives a few hours away in St. Louis, Missouri.
General Hospital Health Update: Maxie Jones Recovering from Brain Aneurysm
Maxie Jones also needed to take time off due to health issues. A few years ago, the actress had a growth on her brain removed, and more recently, doctors discovered an aneurysm. Thankfully, Maxie appears to be doing much better.
No surgery or procedure is needed for the aneurysm at this time—they’re simply monitoring it. Maxie has been cleared and is now back at work.

Maxie hasn’t been seen on screen since August 2025, when she was put into a coma by the villainous Jenz Sidwell. Since then, she’s been in a long-term care facility in Boston.
Her family visits regularly, including Mac Scorpio (John J. York), Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), and her children. But there’s one person who hasn’t visited her yet. Very soon, though, Maxie will awaken from her coma—her first air date is Thursday, February 12th, right in the middle of February sweeps.

Fans are eagerly awaiting Maxie’s return because during her coma, her late husband Nathan West returned from the dead. Many hope for a Maxie-Nathan reunion, but it’s unclear if they’re meant to reunite.
When Maxie fell into the coma, she was involved with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and building a life with him. So, her return will involve significant adjustments. Mac, Felicia, Spinelli, and the doctors will likely help ease her into the many changes that occurred while she was unconscious.
Suspicious Behavior: Why Hasn’t Nathan Visited Maxie in Boston?
Maxie’s family, along with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins), Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and others, have been worried for her. But when Maxie wakes up, will Nathan even be there?
So far, General Hospital hasn’t shown Nathan visiting Maxie in Boston, which is unusual. After all, he’s supposed to be her soulmate. This absence raises questions—could Nathan really be who he claims? While it’s his body, someone else may be in control.
February Sweeps Spoilers: Lulu Spencer and Nathan West Connection
Mac and Felicia may try to prevent Nathan from seeing Maxie immediately, fearing the shock could harm her fragile state. Maxie’s return will be overwhelming—not only has Nathan come back after seven years of being presumed dead, but his sister Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) has also returned.
Meanwhile, General Hospital Winter spoilers tease some sparks between Lulu and Nathan. While searching for Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez), who has gone missing, Lulu and Nathan spend time alone together. With Dante absent, their bond grows stronger, adding tension leading up to Maxie’s return.
Is This Really Nathan West? Red Flags and Memory Concerns
These developments add to the theory that someone may be controlling Nathan’s mind. When Nathan first returned, he crashed into Port Charles in a stolen truck and was admitted to GH as a John Doe. Though people recognized him and a DNA test confirmed it was a match, many suspect that something is not right with Nathan.

Even with the DNA confirming his identity, there are so many red flags suggesting Nathan may not actually be in control of his mind or body. For one, he claims to have no memory of the past seven years, which is extremely suspicious. He was also fleeing from someone when Lulu found him crashed in that stolen vehicle—another big warning sign.
Perhaps the most telling clue was Britt’s reaction to seeing Nathan alive at General Hospital. Unlike her mother Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) or Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who were shocked and thrilled, Britt appeared uneasy and disturbed—but not surprised—to see him alive.
This raises the possibility that Nathan’s brain has been manipulated, or that this may not be Maxie’s husband at all. Someone else could be using Nathan’s identity. Likely suspects include his twisted half-brother Peter August (Wes Ramsey) or his insane father Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). However, Anders Hove is only doing voiceover work from Denmark for Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) scenes, so he’s not physically on set in Los Angeles.
The Future of Maxie Jones: Will She Discover the Truth About Nathan?
It’s also possible that whoever is controlling Nathan—or pretending to be him—is obsessed with Lulu, given how close this Nathan-like figure has become to her while ignoring his wife, Maxie, who remains in a coma. If Nathan doesn’t immediately show love or recognition toward Maxie once she wakes, that would be the biggest red flag that something is wrong.
Hopefully, General Hospital will accelerate this storyline as Maxie returns. Fans need answers—where has Nathan been for the past seven years, and what really happened to him?
